Senior Backend Software Engineer, Node.js

As a part of the CryptoCompare API team, you will be responsible for the upkeep and further development of the core CryptoCompare APIs, which currently serve around 30 million calls per hour to an average of 1.5 million hourly unique users. With the team being small, the successful candidate will be hands on throughout the end-to-end delivery of updates and new features, being able to directly see the value added to users, and the company, from the features they create. The CryptoCompare API is a core company product generating revenue that we are actively pushing further through increased data quality and features, which also provides opportunities to liaise very closely with customers.

The CryptoCompare technical product offering has been rapidly growing in uptake. In the past six months, our API service has over doubled in total monthly requests from 8 billion to 17 billion and assets under management powered by our index business now totals $3 billion. Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years in backend service/API development
  • 1+ years NodeJS experience (backend JavaScript)
  • Experience in-role of:
    • Architecting complex solutions
    • Using unix based systems
    • SQL database usage
    • NoSQL database usage
  • DevOps mindset of end to end delivery, demonstrable through previous experience
  • Fluent English, both verbal and written

 

Nice to have

  • Experience with scaling solutions
  • Experience with Redis and or Elasticsearch
  • Mathematical background / knowledge is a plus
  • Computer Science degree level background
  • Interest/experience in the cryptocurrency market
