BitcoinCash Reaches All-Time High During Weekend

BitcoinCash, the controversial blockchain tat was born during the August 1st UAHF (User-Activated Hard Fork), has made waves during the weekend, reaching its all-time high of $908 on Saturday. Since then, the price has dropped to $683.83, having lost 16.3% in the last 24h with over $138.52M volume in the BCH/USD market. Leading in market share, the KRW accounts for 37% of the trading volume in the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin itself has remained somewhat stable during the weekend, having dropped 3% to $4,014 in the last 24h. With over 109k BTC exchanged in the last day, the JPY is leading trading volume with a 43% share.

Filecoin ICO Raises Record $250 Million from Accredited Investors

Initial coin offering (ICO) investments have exploded in 2017, surpassing early venture capital (VC) funding for internet companies. Most recently, the creators of the IPFS have announced and launched their ICO for Filecoin, a decentralized storage network that will use the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) to secure and store data. The ICO for FileCoin has already raised nearly $199 million which, coupled with the $52 million in VC investments, brings Filecoin’s fundraising total to a record-setting $251 million.

US Lawmakers Draft Bill Protecting Cryptocurrencies From Government Interference

Several members of the US Congress are drafting legislation that is intended to recognize certain digital currencies and protect them against interference from the federal government. The bill is expected to be filed in September 2017 and will focus on how to make the digital currencies a part of the mainstream form of payments being used in the country.

Microsoft Launches Advanced Enterprise Blockchain Service

Microsoft has announced the launch of Coco, a fast and secure blockchain service that can process over 1,600 transactions per second. The Coco framework will also use a unique technology called trusted execution environment (TEE). The trusted execution environment will be able to host the blockchain code in a secure box which will use Intel’s Software Guard Extensions or Windows’ Virtual Secure Mode in order to validate the environment. Coco framework will also be integrated into Microsoft’s Azure cloud storage service.

Ether is up 11.15% against Bitcoin at Ƀ 0.07896 per Ether and up 8.17% against the dollar to $318.04 with average volume Ƀ 63.6k on the ETH/BTC pair.

Dash is down 3.03% at Ƀ 0.07126 with Ƀ 7.4k volume and down 5.66% against the dollar at $285.83.

Ripple is up 5.53% to Ƀ 0.00003874 with volumes of Ƀ 5.7k and up 2.9% against the dollar at $0.1563.
