Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $8,173, representing a loss of 1% in the last 24 hours. With more than $560M worth of BTC exchanged in the BTC/USD market, representing a 24.2% share of daily volume, second to the JPY at 55.3%.

Currently sitting at $389.36, the Ethereum price has risen 6% in the last 24 hours. Over $210M worth of Ether were exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 30.5% market share of the daily trading volume.

At present, the Bitcoin Cash price is trading at $1526.31, which represents a 24 hour gain of 28.48%. The current market cap for Bitcoin Cash is $25B.

Bitfinex Offers BTC:EUR Trading Pair

Bitfinex, one of the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges, announced today that the company will start offering the BTC:EUR trading pair. The announcement has been widely welcomed by the community since previously the site only supported the US dollar. The exchange also offers margin trading for more experienced traders. The announcement reads:

"We are pleased to announce trading is now live on our first Euro pair, BTC:EUR"

Bitcoin Gold Wallet Scam Nets $3 Million

More than $3.3 million has been stolen from Bitcoin users seeking to claim their share of Bitcoin Gold. Operated by a website called mybtgwallet.com, the scheme prompted users to submit their private keys or recovery seeds as a means to generate Bitcoin Gold wallets. 

At least $30,000 in Ethereum, $72,000 in Litecoin, $107,000 in Bitcoin Gold and more than $3 million in Bitcoin were confiscated, according to Coin Desk.
