Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $8,210 representing a gain of 0.83% in the last 24 hours. More than $600 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 20.01% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 56.52% share.

The Ethereum price has risen 3.51% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $533, with over $200 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 29.18% market share of the daily trading volume.

Huawei adds Blockchain Service platform

On Tuesday, Chinese telecommunication solution provider, Huawei, announced that it's releasing a new Blockchain Service platform. The platform will allow companies to create and manage their own smart contracts based on the existing Hyperledger system while operating as an element of the company's cloud computing facilities. The company explained:

“A high-performance, high-availability, and high-security blockchain technology platform service for enterprises and developers that can help companies and developers create, deploy and deploy quickly and cost-effectively on Huawei Cloud and Manage blockchain applications in a few minutes”.

Kraken CEO: Crypto Exchange Won't Answer New York AG's Inquiry

Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken is not planning to respond to the New York Attorney General's inquiry to cryptocurrency exchanges sent on Tuesday. While most exchanges generally welcomed the inquiry and said they would fill out the attached questionnaire, Kraken had a different approach when reached for comment. Kraken's CEO, Jesse Powell stated:

"I realized that we made the wise decision to get the hell out of New York three years ago and that we can dodge this bullet."
