Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $3,446 representing a gain of 0.36% in the last 24 hours. More than $260 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 19% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/EUR pair represents a 3% share.

The Ethereum price has increased by 0.61% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $90, with over $50 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 9% market share of the daily trading volume.

Crypto Exchange Zebpay Launches Euro to Crypto Trading in 21 European Countries

Zebpay announced on Tuesday that it will be launching several euro trading pairs. The former Indian exchange, which is now present in 21 European countries, stated: 

"In addition to enabling our Euro (fiat) to crypto deposits/withdrawals and trading, there are zero-fee Euro deposits and zero maker fees + 0.25% reward per transaction for all our traders. Yes, you pay no fees for trading and also make 0.25% more with each transaction!"

IBM Aims to Provide Blockchain Solutions to India’s Telecommunications Operators

Yesterday, the CTO of IBM India/South Asia, Sriram Raghavan, announced that IBM could be launching blockchain solutions based on "Do No Call" registries and mobile number portability for Indian telecommunication companies. The CTO stated that the products may be launched early next year:

“We have completed proof of concepts and pilots with all the major telecom providers and with TRAI [Telecom Regulatory Authority of India] in this space. We anticipate going into the New Year, we’ll start to see blockchain solutions getting rolled out,”

CFTC Wants to Know More About Ethereum: Are ETH Futures on the Horizon?

Last Tuesday, the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) expressed its desire to be better informed about cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. As such, the commission issued an official "Request for Input" (RFI) in order to understand the underlying technology of Ethereum:

 "All comments must be received within 60 days of publication in the Federal Register. The RFI also seeks to understand similarities and distinctions between Ether and Bitcoin, as well as Ether-specific opportunities, challenges, and risks."
