Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $3,497 representing a gain of 6.5% in the last 24 hours. More than $440 worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 22.5% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents an 11.2% share.

The Ethereum price has increased by 1.2% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $93, with over $115.87 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 12.7% market share of the daily trading volume.

Coinbase Announces New "Convert" Feature

Yesterday, Coinbase announced a new Digital Currency Conversion feature. It will allow users to directly convert between any two supported cryptocurrencies, without having to perform any trades. Coinbase will charge a spread of 1% on conversions. The company is currently working on implementing the new feature:

"Gradually rolling out the ability to convert cryptocurrencies to customers in all 34 countries in which Coinbase offers native payment access."

Malta To Get A Blockchain Bank

Today, it was announced that OK Blockchain Capital Limited has invested in RnF Finance Limited to create a bank that will offer services to crypto and blockchain companies. The CEO and founder of RnF, Roderick Psaila, added:

"The Bank shall engage into four main business streams: Offer banking services to corporates; Lending; Private Banking and Wealth Management. We are targeting big corporates and private clients and the mentality would be that no industries are vetoed beforehand but each application will be treated on a case by case basis."

Bibox Buys Decentralized Exchange Dex.top

Yesterday, Chinese digital asset exchange Bibox acquired Dex.top, a decentralized ERC20 exchange that also operates from Beijing. The Dex.top team stated:

"Both projects share a common vision of developing an outstanding trading experience with robust trading features while ensuring transparency and the security of users’ assets and data."

Bitcoin is up 6.58% at $3,497.810 with a volume of Ƀ125.9k - $440.7M on the USD pairs.

Ether is up 1.25% against Bitcoin at Ƀ0.02672 per Ether and up 7.92% against the dollar to $93.65 with average volume Ƀ82.8k on the ETH/BTC pair.

Bitcoin Cash is up 0.48% to Ƀ0.02528 with volumes of Ƀ13.1k and up 6.83% against the dollar at $86.54.

Ripple is up 6.34% to Ƀ0.00009427 with volumes of Ƀ44.7k and up 13.44% against the dollar at $0.3309.

Zcash is down 2.68% for the day to Ƀ0.01559 per ZEC and up 3.49% against the dollar to $55.43 with an average volume of Ƀ7.9k for the 24 hour period.

Litecoin is up 3.67% against the dollar for the day at $28.5 and down 2.74% to Ƀ0.008143 on volumes of Ƀ31.1k.

Dash is up 1.18% at Ƀ0.01975 with Ƀ5.7k volume and up 7.26% against the dollar at $69.84.

Iota is up 4.79% to Ƀ0.00007114 on Ƀ963.696 volume.

Ether Classic is down 0% to Ƀ0.00112 with volumes of Ƀ5.1k and up 6.45% against the dollar at $3.96.

Monero is up 6.14% against the dollar at $43.53 and down 0.16% against Bitcoin at Ƀ0.01234 on volumes of Ƀ1.3k.
