Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $4,041 representing a gain of 7% in the last 24 hours. More than $590 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 22.9% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 13.6% share.

The Ethereum price has dropped 1% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $108, with over $150 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 15.5% market share of the daily trading volume.

Coinsquare Expands Services to 25 European Countries

Yesterday, Coinsquare, one of the largest crypto exchanges in Canada, officially launched in 25 European countries. All major services the exchange has to offer are now available to European users from the following countries:

"Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, [and the] United Kingdom."

UK Investors to Pay Capital Gains and Income Tax on Crypto Investments

Yesterday, the U.K. Government announced new taxation guidelines. Capital gain taxes will be applied each time investors sell crypto assets. Individuals who received cryptocurrencies through work, mining, or airdrops will also be taxed. Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) stated:

"In the vast majority of cases, individuals hold crypto-assets as a personal investment, usually for capital appreciation in its value or to make particular purchases. They will be liable to pay capital gains tax when they dispose of their crypto-assets."

Coinbase Will Soon Reward Users for Studying Crypto

Yesterday, Coinbase announced the launching of Coinbase Earn, a new system designed to reward users with 0x token by completing several educational tasks, such as watching videos and taking quizzes. The crypto exchange added:

"One of the biggest barriers for people to explore a new digital asset is the lack of knowledge about that asset. Many of the people we spoke to expressed a strong desire to begin learning about new and different crypto assets beyond bitcoin, but didn’t know where to begin,”
