Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $6,341 representing a loss of 4.02% in the last 24 hours. More than $450 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 10.5% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 47.9% share.

The Ethereum price has dropped 5.42% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $432, with over $220 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 21.3% market share of the daily trading volume. The ETH/USDT pair represents a 43.6% share.

Opera Browser Introduces a Built-in Cryptocurrency Wallet

Opera is launching a new browser software that has a built-in cryptocurrency wallet. The browser is currently in private beta, which the company is now inviting new users to join. Charles Hamel, the product lead on Opera Crypto, explained in a statement:

"We believe the web of today will be the interface to the decentralized web of tomorrow. By becoming the first major browser to open up to Web 3.0, we would like to contribute to making the internet of the future more accessible."

Stasis to Launch Euro-Pegged Stable Cryptocurrency

The Malta-based crypto outfit Stasis have recently launched their new digital currency project called EURS which is pegged at a 1:1 level against the Euro. The launch took place at the Malta Chamber of Commerce buildings where Prime Minister Joseph Muscat also made an important announcement about the new crypto and blockchain legislation that was passed through the Maltese parliament. The CEO and founder of Stasis, Gregory Klumov, stated:

"We received a lot of interest from institutional investors – these want transparency and security first and foremost. There are also those investors who want to reduce the volatility of their portfolios and are looking for a stable coin to do so."

Pirate Bay Warns Users About Monero Mining Software

Torrent website Pirate Bay is doubling down on its plan to use visitors' processing power to mine crypto. In a disclaimer recently added to the bottom of its homepage, the website stated:

"By entering TPB you agree to [monero] being mined using your CPU. If you don't agree please leave now or install an adBlocker."

CryptoFriends talked Blockchain, Crypto & ICO’s at the WGES

Organised by Terrapinn, the World Gaming Executive Summit (WGES) took place between the 3-5 July 2018 at the iconic, W-Hotel in Barcelona, Spain and brought together 500+ people to discuss new technological developments in gaming including blockchain, crypto and AI.
