Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $6,212 representing a loss of 2.3% in the last 24 hours. More than $320 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 9% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 46.2% share.

The Ethereum price has dropped 0.7% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $433, with over $120 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 16.7% market share of the daily trading volume. The ETH/USDT pair represents a 44% share.

Bitfinex to Use New Swiss Data Center For Institutional Clients

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex has recently announced that it’s partnering with Market Synergy GmbH, a Swiss-based company that operates a trading network for banks, brokers, and hedge funds to trade cryptocurrencies, in a move that’s set to reinforce its connections to institutional investors. Market Synergy’s CEO, James Banister, stated:

"As the demand for cryptocurrency trading gathers momentum, we spotted a gap in the market for an institutional calibre cryptocurrency connectivity offering. Following over two years of research and planning, we have launched Market Synergy to take us into a new asset class, with the aim of becoming the leading institutional outsourced connectivity provider in the cryptocurrency space."

John McAfee Prepares Legal Action Against HitBTC

Cybersecurity pioneer John McAfee has recently revealed he and his team are “preparing a legal complaint” against popular cryptocurrency exchange HitBTC and its service providers, as the exchange failed to respond to him when he reached out. McAfee threatened to fund a $20 million lawsuit that could bring the company down.

"HITBTC has not responded to our requests. We are preparing a legal complaint against HITBTCs service provider and against HITBTC. And if this is not redressed to the max - and I mean to the max, I will donate $20 million to a class action lawsuit that, I promise, will bring you down."

Ronaldinho Launches Cryptocurrency to Develop Digital VR Stadiums

Ether is up 1.66% against Bitcoin at Ƀ0.06983 per Ether and down 0.7% against the dollar to $433.03 with average volume Ƀ33.8k on the ETH/BTC pair.

Bitcoin Cash is up 0.92% to Ƀ0.11 with volumes of Ƀ17.3k and down 1.28% against the dollar at $682.77.
