At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $6,216 representing a gain of 0.81% in the last 24 hours. More than $450 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 14.2% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 62.33% share.

The Ethereum price has risen 0.93% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $454, with over $150 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 26.3% market share of the daily trading volume.

AlipayHK Opens Blockchain Remittance Corridor to the Philippines

Yesterday, the payment affiliate of Chinese e-commerce Alibaba, Ant Financial, launched a blockchain-based cross-border settlement service for consumers. According to the announcement made on a press conference in Hong Kong, Ant Financial blockchain remittance service will be used to send funds between Hong Kong and the Philippines without the need for intermediaries. Ant Financial's CEO explained its goals with the use of the blockchain technology:

"Use blockchains to solve practical problems that have social value; continue to overcome the technological barriers of blockchains to large-scale practical applications; and jointly build open blockchain ecosystems with partners."

Tron Activates Mainnet After Month-Long Migration

Yesterday, cryptocurrency startup Tron announced it has formally activated its mainnet following a migration from the Ethereum blockchain to its independent blockchain. The migration began on the 31st of May with the beta release of Odyssey 2.0 and took nearly one month for the transaction to be completed.

Enjin Coin CTO Creates ERC-1155, a New Token for Ethereum

Co-Founder and CTO of the cryptocurrency startup Enjin announced it has developed a new standard token for defining video game tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, ERC-1155. On an official blog post, Radomski explained that the new ERC-1155 protocol will allow an infinite number of both fungible and non-fungible items to be deployed through a single contract. Radomski stated:

"If this does take off, the gaming industry alone will require tens of millions of new items — but the application of this standard is by no means limited to the games market. ERC-1155 tokens could be used to certify all forms of ownership, tangible or digital.”
