Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $8,808 representing a loss of 5.85% in the last 24 hours. More than $900 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 27.3% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 41.7% share.

The Ethereum price has dropped 6.97% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $708, with over $350 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 29.3% market share of the daily trading volume.

Telegram is Testing ‘Passport’ Facility for ID Verification

According to Russian media reports, Telegram has been testing a new service that will store users’ information and documents for verification purposes. The service is named as Telegram Portfolio and will be used to keep personal details and copies of IDs, banking statements, and utility bills to identify users on Telegram’s blockchain platform TON and prevent anonymous cryptocurrency payments.

Huawei to Offer First Crypto Wallet App 

According to Bloomberg, Chinese telecommunications firm and smartphone maker Huawei is partnering with BTC.com to roll out a mobile cryptocurrency app. BTC.com, owned by the Bitmain company tracks cryptocurrency mining and block information while also providing a digital wallet service. The BTC.com CEO, Alejandro de la Torre said that its new wallet application will be released on the Huawei's app store, AppGallery.

Hackers Temporarily Take Over Dash Core CEO’s Social Media Accounts

Yesterday, the Dash's network CEO Ryan Taylor saw hackers take over most of his social media accounts and use them to publish offensive content. According to a circulating email, the hackers also took over his SIM card. However, Taylor has already recovered his Twitter account and deleted the offensive content the hackers publish while in control. On a Twitter post, Taylor said:

"My Twitter account was obviously compromised today. The account is now back under my control and will verify that through the @dashpay account."
