Amazon’s Cloud Services are Being Used to Serve Mining Malware

As part of ongoing efforts to monitor the explosion of cryptocurrency mining malware over the last year, researchers have apparently found a cryptocurrency mining malware called "Xbooster" on the Amazon’s AWS cloud services, looking to infect computers and use their processing power to mine Monero. Researchers explained that the software is being dropped onto computers via sites hosted by Amazon's AWS cloud hosting services but it is not connected in any way to the company's recent addition of blockchain-based software.

Last Tuesday, crypto payroll processor Bitwage announced that it has created a new advisory firm called Inwage to help traditional companies develop and hold token sales. The Inwage platform will include know-your-costumer procedures, payment processing and dividends, assistance to create and audit smart contracts, as well as website security. Bitwage president, Jonathan Chester, said:

"We started to build out an ICO technology that people can use without relying on a third party. People can license the InWage software and host it themselves. This is actually one of beautiful things about ICOs, the ability to sell a digital asset without the requirement of a third party."

Winning Poker Network Adds 5 New Cryptocurrencies

The online poker network that ignited the cryptocurrency revolution in iGaming is at it again. The Winning Poker Network today announced that they’re adding five new cryptocurrencies to their payment processing lineup.

Starting today, players can choose to deposit to and withdraw from their online poker account using Bitcoin gold, Neo, RCN, Salt, and Nem. That’s in addition to the more than 60 cryptocurrencies they already welcome.

The Winning Poker Network changed the online poker payment processing landscape a few years ago when they decided to embrace Bitcoin for deposits and withdrawals. Traditional payment methods like credit cards and bank deposits often come with hurdles, especially for US-based players, and the network sought to make payments faster and easier.

Last year, the US-facing online poker network expanded their payment offering to include more than 60 different cryptocurrencies. Players can deposit using their favorite one, convert it to USD for play at the real money online poker tables, and withdraw back to their cryptocurrency of choice. The same account balance can be used to bet on sports or play casino games, all under one umbrella and from one single account.

By accepting cryptocurrencies, the Winning Poker Network has eliminated the hurdles that come with using traditional payment methods, including declined transactions and payment delays that are often out of the cardroom’s control. Deposit and withdrawals with cryptocurrencies are near-instant and don’t come with any additional fees beyond the small miner’s fee.
