Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $4,215 representing a loss of 3.21% in the last 24 hours. More than $430 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 18% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/JPY pair represents a 9% share.

The Ethereum price has dropped 3.54% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $117, with over $100 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 12% market share of the daily trading volume.

SIRIN Labs Launches FINNEY

Yesterday, startup SIRIN Labs, which first announced its plans in September 2017, launched FINNEY, the world's first "blockchain smartphone". Moshe Hogeg, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of SIRIN Labs, said:

Intel Wins Patent for Energy-Efficient Bitcoin Mining

Last Tuesday, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office awarded global tech giant Intel a patent outlining a processor which claims to be able to conduct “energy-efficient high-performance bitcoin mining,” specifically naming the SHA-256 algorithm used by bitcoin. On the USPTO Patent Database they stated:

“Dedicated Bitcoin mining ASICs are used to implement multiple SHA-256 engines that may deliver a performance of thousands of hashes per second while consuming power of greater than 200 [watts]. Embodiments of the present disclosure employ micro-architectural optimizations including selective hardwiring certain parameters in Bitcoin mining computation.”

OKEx Announces Third Round of Token Delisting

Last Tuesday, Digital asset exchange OKEx announced that they will be removing 38 cryptocurrencies (49 trading pairs) by the end of the month. The delisting will take place today, November 30, 2018. The cryptocurrencies to be removed include BRD, DENT, KEY, OST, and many more. OKEx stated:

"For users who are holding VEE, LEV, AVT, CBT, WRC, QVT, MTL, DNA, DNT, OAX, 1ST, CAG, UKG, BRD, SAN, ICN, ATL, SUB, REQ, NGC, AMM, LA, DENT, CIT, DAT, or MAG, please withdraw your tokens immediately to other platforms or to your wallet. The withdrawals of the above token will be closed from 05:00 Dec 14, 2018 (CET)."
