Name Service Developed for Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Addresses
Recently, the Portal Network, a company focused on making the blockchain space more user-friendly, has announced a new service to simplify wallet addresses for Bitcoin Cash (BCH). The service, called the Bitcoin Cash Name Service (BCNS), will allow users to turn their wallet address into an easy-to-read name, instead of the long alphanumeric code that most cryptocurrency wallets use. According to a report from Jamie Redman of Bitcoin.com, the BCNS will utilize smart contracts with a version of Omni Layer that’s also tethered to an IPFS hash and BCH wallet address, because smart contracts are not a feature of the BCH blockchain. The Portal Network developers stated:
“As for BCNS’s use case, developers can write different information to the UTXO-based blockchain at JSON-RPC interface, and get related information stored in the Bitcoin Cash script. Omni Layer plays a crucial role for BCNS because the Op-Return script is where all the BCNS information is stored.”

Chrome Extensions Will Soon Protect Against Miners and Hackers
Recently, Google has announced a number of upcoming changes concerning the development of new extensions for Chrome. Users of the web browser will soon benefit from improved security and better protection against malware including hidden miners and tools used to steal cryptocurrency. According to a blog post, users will have the option to restrict the access of different extensions to a custom list of sites. In addition, they will be able to configure extensions to ask for confirmation when they attempt to gain access to a certain page. Host permissions allow extensions to automatically read and change data on websites, which has led to malicious misuse in many cases, the company stated:
"Our aim is to improve user transparency and control over when extensions are able to access site data. In subsequent milestones, we’ll continue to optimize the user experience toward this goal while improving usability."
