Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $6,474 representing a loss of 0.32% in the last 24 hours. More than $210 M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 14% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/KRW pair represents a 25% share.

The Ethereum price has dropped 0.79% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $203, with over $50 M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has an 11% market share of the daily trading volume.

Bakkt Announces Launch Date for Bitcoin (BTC) Futures Trading

Yesterday, Bakkt, a platform developed and funded by the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) in a bid to provide a global network to trade and store digital assets, announced that the futures contracts will be the first trading product to go live on the platform. According to the press release: 

"ICE Futures U.S., Inc. will list the new Bakkt Bitcoin (USD) Daily Futures Contract for trading on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. The Bakkt Bitcoin (USD) Daily Futures Contract is a physically-settled daily futures contract for bitcoin held in Bakkt LLC , ICE’s Digital Asset Warehouse , and will be cleared by ICE Clear US, Inc. Each futures contract calls for delivery of one bitcoin held in the Bakkt Digital Asset Warehouse , and will trade in U.S. dollar terms. One daily contract will be listed for trading each Exchange Business Day."

Hansecoin Becomes First to be Listed on CoinMetro’s Exchange

Recently, Estonia-based Hansecoin, a project to tokenize hard assets like real estate, announced that will become the first project to be listed on crypto exchange CoinMetro. Hansecoin differs from other attempts to launch tokenized assets as the company claims it will become fully regulated and compliant with the requirements of the Estonian Financial Supervisory Authority. Kevin Murko, CoinMetro's CEO, stated:

"The asset provides a floor to the price and increases stability versus speculative tokens. Hansecoin’s residential development in our home city of Tallinn is a perfect example of an asset-backed token, and that’s why we have chosen it as the first project on our ICO Express platform."

Decred Is Getting Listed on Binance, Price Surges More Than 20%

Yesterday, Binance, one of the world's largest crypto exchange, announced that it would be listing Decred (DCR) this week. Following this announcement, the DCR price surged more than 20%. On its website, the exchange explained that it will "open trading for DCR/BNB and DCR/BTC trading pairs at 2018/10/24 04:00 AM (UTC)", and that users could now "start depositing DCR in preparation for trading". Binance announced on an official Tweet:
