Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $5,043 representing a loss of 3.06% in the last 24 hours. More than $320M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing a 12% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/EUR pair represents a 2% share.

The Ethereum price has dropped 3.14% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $164, with over $110M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 5% market share of the daily trading volume.

Trade Organization ICC Eyes Blockchain Adoption

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is making blockchain technology available to its 45 million members, including Amazon, Coca Cola, FedEx, McDonald’s and PayPal. The ICC has partnered with Singapore-based blockchain startup Perlin to improve supply chain processes at member firms, making them more traceable and transparent, as announced yesterday. On the other hand, Perlin will offer free access to its blockchain platform during the early stages of the project, and will focus on “practical, efficient and scalable blockchain traceability and transparency systems for value chains". John Denton, secretary general of the ICC, said:

"In collaboration with Perlin, which leads the field in blockchain and distributed ledger development, we can help facilitate practical and truly disruptive transformation for businesses across every conceivable industry sector.”

Binance Partners With CipherTrace to Enhance AML

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has partnered with blockchain analytics company CipherTrace to enhance its Anti-Money Laundering (AML) measures. On a blog post posted yesterday, Binance announced the partnership with CipherTrace, a company that develops cryptocurrency Anti-Money Laundering, cryptocurrency forensics, and regulatory monitoring solutions. As the announcement reads, the partnership goal is to reinforce Binance existing AML compliance program and help them expand into new markets in the most compliant fashion. Samuel Lim, Chief Compliance Officer of Binance, stated:

"The selection of CipherTrace as our on-chain security solution will augment our expansion drive and build greater trust among our users, regulators and financial institutions. This partnership will bolster our existing world-class AML compliance program and help us expand into new markets in the most compliant fashion.”

World's First Smart Contract Firewall for EOS Launched By SlowMist

Developers of EOSIO, a blockchain protocol powered by the native cryptocurrency EOS, have recently published a blog post revealing that they aim to implement the "world’s first firewall” system for smart contracts, FireWall.X. According to the blog post, FireWall.X was developed by SlowMist Technology Co to ensure the security of all EOS-based decentralized applications (dApps) in a manner that is “similar to traditional firewalls for operating systems which control network traffic.” FireWall.X has also the ability to “execute control over inline actions” while “preventing unauthorized access” to EOS-based smart contracts.
