Coinbase’s multi-cryptocurrency wallet, Coinbase Wallet, is losing its decentralized application browser to comply with Apple’s App Store policy. The move comes shortly after MetaMask, an Ethereum wallet and dApps browser, was removed from Google’s Play Store and saw an appeal get denied.
The setbacks appear to be limited to the decentralized application side, as a new job ad hints Square is looking to add new bitcoin-related features to its Cash App, which has been letting users buy BTC since November 2017.
Switzerland’s finance minister and outgoing president Ueli Maurer revealed he believes Facebook’s cryptocurrency Libra has “failed” in its current form because banks won’t accept the basket of assets backing it.
