Market Update

At the time of writing, the Bitcoin price is sitting at $4,014 representing a gain of 0.74% in the last 24 hours. More than $130M worth of BTC were exchanged in the BTC/USD market representing an 8.7% share of the global daily volume. The BTC/KRW pair represents a 1.7% share.

The Ethereum price has increased 0.15% over the past 24 hours and is currently sitting at $138, with over $30M worth of Ether exchanged in the past 24 hours on the ETH/USD pair which has a 2.7% market share of the daily trading volume.

CryptoCompare Publishes Exchange Review for February 2019

The February Monthly Exchange Review provides the latest exchange rankings, an evaluation of spot vs futures volumes including both crypto exchanges (BitMEX and BitflyerFX) and traditional exchanges (CBOE and CME); and evaluation of volumes for the top trans-fee mining and decentralised exchanges.

New charts include an overview of derivatives exchanges with volume data from OKEx, CryptoFacilities and Deribit. In addition, a short trade data analysis for the end of February covers a selection of exchanges that trade either BTC to USD or USDT.

Fortune 500 Tech Firm Avnet Now Accepts Crypto Payments

Avnet, one of the world’s largest distributors of electronic components and services, is now accepting cryptocurrency payments through a partnership with blockchain payments processor BitPay. Announced yesterday, the Fortune 500 firm said its customers can now pay in Bitcoin (BTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) for products and services, with BitPay then verifying and processing those payments. Avnet vice president of demand creation, Sunny Trinh, stated:

“We’re working with BitPay to facilitate secure blockchain payments for all types of customers so they can focus on developing their products, not how to pay for them."

Ether is down 0.52% against Bitcoin at Ƀ0.03437 per Ether and up 0.15% against the dollar to $138.39 with average volume Ƀ104.0k on the ETH/BTC pair.

Litecoin is up 0.2% against the dollar for the day at $59.6 and down 0.54% to Ƀ0.0147 on volumes of Ƀ66.8k.

EOS is down 0.6% to Ƀ0.0009225 on Ƀ34.6k volume.

Ripple is down 0.65% to Ƀ0.00007808 with volumes of Ƀ25.8k and up 0.1% against the dollar at $0.3144.

Bitcoin Cash is down 1.41% to Ƀ0.03907 with volumes of Ƀ19.3k and down 0.74% against the dollar at $157.64.

Zcash is up 7.69% for the day to Ƀ0.01484 per ZEC and up 8.36% against the dollar to $60.26 with an average volume of Ƀ10.7k for the 24 hour period.

Dash is up 1.18% at Ƀ0.02315 with Ƀ10.1k volume and up 1.81% against the dollar at $94.39.

Ether Classic is up 3.74% to Ƀ0.001138 with volumes of Ƀ9.4k and up 4.31% against the dollar at $4.6.
