Tesla is Now Accepting Bitcoin Payments

Tesla co-founder and CEO Elon Musk has announced that the U.S. electric car maker is now accepting payments in bitcoin. It will do so using internal and open-source software, and operating Bitcoin nodes directly.

Musk added that “Bitcoin paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency.” The move comes over a month after the electric car market revealed in its latest annual report that it had invested $1.5 billion in bitcoin.

At the time, Tesla pointed out that it expected to “to begin accepting bitcoin as a form of payment for our products in the near future, subject to applicable laws and initially on a limited basis, which we may or may not liquidate upon receipt.”

On social media several users posted screenshots of Tesla’s website, showing bitcoin is now available as a payment option. As Elon Musk put it “you can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin.”

Uniswap Unveils Version 3 With Greater Capital Efficiency

Decentralized exchange Uniswap has announced the release of its third iteration in May. The firm said its goal is to make Uniswap the “most flexible and efficient” automated market maker (AMM).

Uniswap v3 is eyeing an integration with Ethereum throughput booster Optimism “soon after” launching on May 5, and the new version promises “up to [4,000 times] capital efficiency relative to Uniswap v2,” with a key change being what it called “concentrated liquidity.”

In this paper, we present Uniswap v3, a novel AMM that gives liquidity providers more control over the price ranges in which their capital is used, with limited effect on liquidity fragmentation and gas inefficiency.

Concentrated liquidity will allow liquidity providers to set minimum and maximum prices on their portion of any pool. The new version of Uniswap will also allow for pools to be created with different fees. It will also include other changes associated with composability.

Daily Movers – STORJ, THETA, CRV

Several tokens are leading the charge in the last 24-hour period. Some of these are well-known cryptocurrencies with more liquid trading pairs, so we’ll be focusing on these over low-cap cryptos that may have higher percentage changes.

Storj (STORJ) - Storj is a decentralized cloud storage platform that allows anyone to rent their idle hard drive space and to earn a revenue by doing so. End-users can use Storj to store their files at competitive prices and within a p2p network that is secure from server downtime, censorship and hacks.

Theta Token (THETA) – Theta is a decentralized video delivery network similar to Twitch, but powered by its users. Its mainnet was launched in 2019 with a swap from ERC20 Theta tokens to native THETA on its own blockchain.

Curve DAO Token (CRV) - Curve is an exchange liquidity pool on Ethereum (like Uniswap) designed for (1) extremely efficient stablecoin trading (2) low risk, supplemental fee income for liquidity providers, without an opportunity cost.
