JPMorgan Launches Tokenized Money Market Fund on Ethereum With $100M Investment

JPMorgan Chase has launched its first tokenized money-market fund on Ethereum, deepening Wall Street’s shift toward blockchain-based finance.

The fund, called My OnChain Net Yield Fund (MONY), is seeded with $100 million from the bank’s asset management division and opens this week to qualified investors with at least $1 million to invest. It allows redemptions in cash or USDC.

Tokenized money-market funds work like traditional ones, investing in short-term debt and paying daily interest, but offer faster settlement and 24/7 trading. JPMorgan built MONY on its own Kinexys platform.

The move puts the $4 trillion bank in line with peers like BlackRock and Franklin Templeton, who’ve already brought similar funds onchain. These blockchain-native assets are increasingly used in decentralized finance (DeFi) as collateral or yield-generating reserves.

The tokenized money-market sector has grown from $3 billion to $9 billion in the past year, according to RWA.xyz.

Visa Launches Stablecoin Advisory Practice as Demand Grows

Visa has launched a stablecoin advisory service aimed at helping banks and fintechs navigate the fast-changing digital payments landscape.

The Stablecoins Advisory Practice already has dozens of clients, including Navy Federal Credit Union and Pathward. It offers guidance on strategy, technology and operations for firms exploring stablecoin use cases, like cross-border and B2B payments.

Stablecoins have gained momentum since the U.S. passed the Genius Act in July, creating clearer rules for their use. Other payments firms, including Mastercard and PayPal, have expanded their stablecoin efforts in response.

Visa is no stranger to the sector. It piloted USDC settlement in 2023 and now supports over 130 stablecoin-linked card programs globally, with $3.5 billion in annualized volume.
