Versions of Electrum and Electrum-LTC older than 3.3.3 are vulnerable to a phishing attack, where malicious servers are able to display a message asking users to download a fake version of Electrum. To prevent user exposure, versions older than 3.3 can no longer connect to public servers, and must be upgraded. Do not download software updates from sources other than electrum.org and electrum-ltc.org.
Electrum-LTC is a community-maintained port of Electrum, the Bitcoin wallet, to Litecoin. It is not an official product of Electrum Technologies GmbH, which does not support it.

Electrum-LTC is a Litecoin that does not download the blockchain, instead using a network of specialized servers that index the blockchain.
The wallet is:
Forgiving - wallet can be recovered from a secret seed.
Safe -Your seed and private keys are encrypted on your hard drive. They are never sent to the servers.
Low trust - Information received from the servers is verified using SPV. Servers are authenticated using SSL.
No downtimes - Your client is not tied to a particular server; it will switch instantly if your server is down.
Ubiquitous - You can use the same wallet on different computers, they will synchronize automatically.
Cold Storage - Sign transactions from a computer that is always offline. Broadcast them using a machine that does not have your keys.
Reachable - You can export your private keys into other Bitcoin clients.
