2023-12-15: Discontinuation of BUSD Support on Binance: Binance has announced that it will gradually end support for its BUSD stablecoin. This change follows a decision by Paxos, the issuer of BUSD, to halt the minting of new BUSD tokens as ordered in February.
- End Date for BUSD Support: Binance will officially cease support for BUSD on December 15, 2023. Users are advised to convert their BUSD into other assets by this date.
- Redemption and Conversion: Users will be able to redeem their BUSD until February 2024. However, starting December 31, 2023, Binance will halt withdrawals, and any remaining BUSD balances will be automatically converted to FDUSD, a stablecoin issued by FD121 Ltd.
- Removal from Trading Pairs: BUSD will be removed from spot and margin trading pairs. It has also been delisted as a loanable asset on Binance's platform.
